Dr. Lirones was born and raised in northern Michigan. He first became interested in the medical profession while riding alongside his father, an old-school general practitioner, on routine house calls as a child. His interest in optometry piqued just before he graduated from Elk Rapids High School. He attended Central Michigan University for his undergraduate studies, eagerly involving himself in the marching and jazz bands. After attending his first year at the Michigan College of Optometry, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Vision Science from Ferris State University. He later earned his Doctor of Optometry in 2019, graduating with honors from the Michigan College of Optometry. His clinical training externships included St. Joseph’s Great Lakes Eye Care, Wow Vision Therapy, Traverse City Eye Consultants, and the Wyoming Veteran’s Affairs Health Center in Michigan. Following graduation, Dr. Lirones completed a residency with emphasis in pediatrics and binocular vision at the Michigan College of Optometry. After completion of his residency, Dr. Lirones joined the EyeSite in the summer of 2020. His clinical interests include family practice, pediatrics and eye teaming disorders, vision therapy, contacts, and ocular disease. Dr. Lirones’s non-professional interests include automotive and marine restoration, playing the guitar and trumpet, and spending time with his lovely wife and family. Dr. Lirones is not only excited to be practicing near his alma mater, but in the same town his family migrated to from Greece in the early 1900s.
